I’d chosen this high vantage point on Banks Peninsula, overlooking Akaroa Harbour, to watch a lunar eclipse but the clouds rolled in before totality occurred. There was a silver lining to these clouds though – turns out it was a perfect spot though to watch those same clouds transform with beautiful pink tones just before sunrise.
